Bobkitty

Lily: Whassat?
Me: It's a Bobcat.
Lily: [nod]

Later...

Me (holding on to terrified Lily): You don't have to be scared.  See, Grandpa's just driving the Bobcat.
Lily (taking her face out of my shoulder): Bob... kitty?

I love when kids can't remember the actual words used and try to make connections using similar words. My favorite from when my daughter was little: when Sen. Wellstone died I cried for days. At one point she came to me and tried to cheer me up by saying, "Mommy, I'm sorry Mr. Good Rock died." It took me a minute, and then I just hugged her and smiled.

Out of the mouths of babes.
