Yet another cooking slump

My cooking has been extremely blah lately.  I'm in a stressed-out cooking funk.  Example: this is my breakfast this morning:

Leftover rice from the other night (frozen ginger chicken from Aldi) and leftover roasted cauliflower from last night (frozen pierogies, onions, Polish sausage, and cauliflower).  Monochromatic.  Thank cats the furikake's on there to give it a little, um, color.

Every morning for breakfast we have eggs and toast, toast and eggs.  Sometimes we splurge and have bacon or sausage.  When we run out of eggs Lily and I will have oatmeal and Husband will eat out.  Boring.  I need to make some freezer breakfast food so we can change things up with a burrito or a casserole every now and then.

For a couple of weeks I was eating nothing but salad for lunch.  Salad, salad, salad.  Boring, boring, boring.

I think it's time to bring back theme weeks.  Korean week.  Middle Eastern week.  South American week.  I have to dig myself out of this hole and I think the only thing that will get me out is a trip to an ethnic grocer.

That is a sad little lunch you got going there. :-) You know what would spruce it up? A margarita. No. Two margaritas.

:-)

@Pearl, I believe you're onto something. Maybe two margaritas and a tall gin & tonic.

I think that breakfast actually looks good. I get tired of only eating breakfast type foods: cereal, eggs, toast during the morning.

Themed dinner weeks sound great. Thanks for sharing!
